A SAGES Initiative

The Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) is conducting its first biomedical data challenge to advance clinically meaningful AI solutions for the assessment of the Critical View of Safety (CVS) in laparoscopic cholecystectomy. This global initiative provides a uniquely large and diverse dataset of 1000 laparoscopic cholecystectomy videos from over 50 countries, meticulously annotated by surgeons.

We encourage computer scientist to compete in developing innovative AI algorithms for real-time CVS detection, aiming to revolutionize AI-driven intraoperative assistance and enhance surgical safety.

The SAGES CVS Challenge is an official challenge at the Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Interventions (MICCAI) Conference 2024 in Marrakesh.  Please reach out to info@cvschallenge.org with any questions!
